Rashid Ibrahim is originally from Kenya and came to West Fargo in 2016.  He became a paraprofessional at West Fargo High School. Rashid has said that he expected that he would be working with primarily white students; however, he found that he met students from many diverse countries.  Rashid heard about the new program being sponsored by the West Fargo Area Education Foundation (WFAEF) in partnership with Minot State University that allows eligible paraprofessionals to complete a bachelor’s degree.  Since he had been a teacher in Kenya, he applied and was awarded the 2020 Program for Inclusive Education Scholarship to complete his education at Minot State University in Special Education and Math.  Rashid completed his student teaching at Cheney Middle School in the fall of 2024.  Congratulations Rashid!
