The 1993 Football Team was the first West Fargo High School football team to win a state championship title. The Packers culminated a perfect regular season record (8-0) with an Eastern Dakota Conference Championship title and a North Dakota State Championship title. The state championship game featured an epic cross-town rivalry with Fargo South High School, ending in a final score of 6 to 2. Six players were named to the All-EDC Team (Bob Erickson, Kelly Greger, Chris Grefsrud, Don Kern, Aarick Olson, Sam Wedll), 5 players were selected to the All-State Team (Chris Grefsrud, Kelly Greger, Don Kern, Aarick Olson, Sam Wedll), and Coach Jay Gibson was named EDC Coach of the Year and ND Coach of the Year. Starting in 1993, the West Fargo Football program has won 9 EDC titles and 5 State Championship titles.
